About Us

Community. Competition. Margaret River.

Who We Are

Margaret River's competitive swim club

The Margaret River Swim Club is a Swimming WA affiliated competitive club based at the Margaret River Recreation Centre. We welcome swimmers of all ages and abilities, from kids taking their first steps into competitive swimming right through to athletes chasing state-level times.

We're a registered not-for-profit club, and everything we do is driven by one goal: giving every swimmer in our region the opportunity to find out what they're capable of in the water.

Coaching

Coached to improve. Supported to thrive.

Every session is run by Head Coach Flynn Winstanley, who tailors training to each swimmer's individual goals and ability. Whether your child wants to compete at a regional meet, earn their first personal best, or simply get stronger in the water. We meet them exactly where they are.

Small squad sizes mean every swimmer gets genuine attention, honest feedback, and a clear pathway forward.

Community

A club they'll actually look forward to.

Ask any MRSC swimmer what they love most and it's rarely the races. It's their teammates. The club is a tight-knit group of kids aged 9 to 18 who train together, compete together, and genuinely enjoy each other's company on deck.

Parents are a huge part of what makes the club work too. From timekeeping at club nights to cheering on the sidelines at carnivals, the MRSC community is one of the best things about being part of the club.

Competition

From club nights to state competition.

As a Swimming WA affiliated club, our swimmers have the opportunity to compete at officially sanctioned carnivals throughout Western Australia, earning rankings, personal bests, and the experience of racing at a high level.

Closer to home, our regular club nights at the Margaret River Recreation Centre give swimmers the chance to race in a low-pressure, supportive environment. It's where confidence is built and times start to drop.

Every swimmer gets coached

We keep squad sizes small so every swimmer gets real attention, not just the fast ones. Whether your child is brand new to competitive swimming or chasing a state qualifying time, the coaching is tailored to them.

A genuine community

We're a small regional club and that's what makes it special. Swimmers know each other by name, families stick around after sessions, and everyone cheers for everyone at carnivals, not just their own kids.

Affiliated and accountable

As a Swimming WA affiliated club and registered not-for-profit, we operate to a proper standard. Swimmers are insured, carnivals are sanctioned, and every dollar goes back into the club.
